ImJustJudybut

I've never been short of an opinion, a story or a big ol' smile. This blog will serve as my journal through the Summer of 2006 Fast Track Program at Pitt. I hope to be smiling through July 31st.

I Believe I can Fly

When I was a youngster, one by one my Dad would grab my cousins and I by our hands and feet and swing us like a pendulum and. on the count of three, toss us into the air. My Mother and Aunts would be protesting loudly, but by the time it was discovered we had all had a turn on “Daddy Airways”. I loved the feeling of the free fall. Nothing but air as we soared toward the earth. Well, soared to his arms, but the point is for a moment, just a brief moment we felt like we could fly. This post serves a dual purpose.
1. I acknowledge the big, strong, loving Daddy of mine this Father's Day.
2. The Fast Track program is so scary but with every new portal I get that feeling in the pit of my stomach like I’m thrown into the air. Then, for a brief moment, I believe I can fly.

I Believe I Can Fly

I used to think that I could not go on
and life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true Love
I'm leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
If I can see it
then I can do it
If I just believe it
there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See, I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in%
